Obviously not everyone can reach the 32-team FIFA tournament but those nations were widely expected to reach the tournament in Russia.
It’s been confirmed by U.S. Soccer, who are working alongside MLS’s marketing team (US Soccer Marketing), that there are now plans for an alternative summer tournament.
The proposed tournament would take place ahead of the World Cup, which kicks off on 14th June.

Unfortunately, that only offers three weeks between the end of the European season, which culminates with the Champions League final on 26th May.

Cristiano is more Selfish than me: Karim Benzema

Karim Benzema with his club colleague Cristiano

The French and Real Madrid Striker commented on his relationship with his club colleague Cristiano Ronaldo in interview given to Canal+. Benzema stated that he gets on very well with Cristiano Ronaldo but also thinks that ‘Cristiano is more Selfish than him infront of the goal‘. But according to the Striker,it evidently benefits the team very well and he does not possess a problem as well
“At Real, I score, but when the guy who is next to you scores 50 per season (you can not do anything),” Benzema told Canal+ .

The BBC

“It’s different from how I played at Lyon. I just like football and winning titles. I’m having fun.
“Ronaldo and I, we get on well. I like playing with him. He likes to play with one touch of the ball. He is more selfish than me, but that’s normal. That does not bother me. Finally, it’s good for the team.”

“I did not imagine that I would stay at Real Madrid for nine years,” Benzema said. “When I was at Lyon, I imagined moving to Real to win titles. The most difficult thing in Madrid is the pressure.

“The debate about me? It’s to sell papers. I got used to it. I focus on the football. With age, I have learned to stay calm.”

“ITS A LIE THAT I PUT THE FRIENDS I WANT IN THE NATIONAL TEAM “: LIONEL MESSI HITS BACK AGAINST BOSS CLAIMS

Lionel Messi bashing out against the allegations that he runs the national team

Lionel Messi has told ESPN that it makes him angry when people claim he makes the big decisions for the Argentina national team.
Messi, whose hat trick took Argentina to the World Cup last month, has been accused of selecting coaches and influencing which players do and do not make the squad in the past.

Cometh the hour,Cometh the man; Lionel Messi ,hattrick Vs Ecuador

The Barcelona forward, however, criticised the “ridiculous” comments that have been made about him.

“It makes me angry that people say so many things so easily,” Messi told ESPN’s Diego Monroig about his thoughts on the suggestion he runs the Argentina team.
People say a lot of things without knowing. So, on one hand, it makes me angry. But on the other hand, I am used to everything that they say.
I am used to all the ridiculous things they say not just about me, but about this group [of players] from the last few years, so I can live with it.”
In an interview with TyC Sports, Messi added that the people making the comments were showing a lack of respect, not just to him, but to his international teammates.
It’s a lie that I put my friends and the coaches I want in the national team. I’m just one more player in the team,” the Barcelona forward said.
To tell these great players — [Angel] Di Maria, [Sergio] Aguero, [Gonzalo] Higuain and [Javier] Mascherano, who are worldwide figures — that, ‘You play because you’re Messi’s friend,’ shows a lack of respect towards them and also towards me.”
It’s a lie. I never choose players for the team or take them out. That’s not who I am. I am here to add to the squad, nothing else.”

Criticism of Argentina was present throughout their World Cup qualifying campaign, as they left it late before booking their ticket to Russia next summer, courtesy of Messi’s treble in the final group game against Ecuador.
With Messi now 30 years old and a number of other players in Jorge Sampaoli’s squad also approaching the latter stages of their careers — including Di Maria, Mascherano and Higuain — it might prove the last chance for this group to win a World Cup.
Messi said he doesn’t think about how many years he has left.

No, honestly, I hadn’t taken a decision [on my international future],” he said. “But I think it would have been yes, it would have been the end for this group [of players], because it would have been crazy not to qualify for the World Cup. Honestly, I can’t even imagine what would have happened, because it would have been terrible for everyone.”

“[Last World Cup?] I don’t know. I try to not to look at the future and to just focus on the day-to-day and set objectives in the near future. I don’t know what’s going to happen after the World Cup. We’re just going to keep growing in the coming months, taking advantage of the little time we have [before Russia 2018]. After that, we will see.”

Ronaldo in action for Real Madrid against Tottenham last week

“I can’t wait to be a dad again [Ronaldo’s girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez is currently pregnant with the couple’s first child]. Being a father and seeing my family grow is without doubt the greatest privilege I’ve had.

“Spending time with them, being by their side, smiling and laughing with them. They’ve brought a lot of happiness and joy to my life.”

On his son Cristiano, 7, Ronaldo said: “He loves football and he plays all the time. Often it’s difficult to get him to sit down and have dinner because he’s always outside kicking a football.

“I suppose it’s in his blood

“He’s a very affectionate boy, attentive, friendly, respectful and very open with people. Everyone who meets him is surprised at how confident he is. That makes me feel very proud as a dad.”

Ronaldo is currently working on his fitness after being given a rest by Portugal manager Fernando Santos and left out of the side’s forthcoming friendlies against Saudi Arabia and the USA.

The 32-year-old was named footballer of the year at the Best FIFA Football Awards last month, but he has endured a mixed start to the season and scored just one goal in seven La Liga matches.

CRICKET IS NOT THE BIG THING ANYMORE IN INDIA AFTER THE UNDER 17 WC

UNDER 17 WORLD CUP IN INDIA SUMMED UP

So the the FIFA under 17 World Cup in India Have Finally came to an end with England emerging as the ultimate winners and Spain and Brazil the runners up respectively . But what conclusion can ‘India’ draw from this Tournament ? Can India be finally called as a Footballing Nation at the end ? Have ‘Football  really took over’ India? Here we present a deep Analysis of India’a run in as a participant and as the host Nation

The Passion And The Pride – INDIA

FIFA under 17 World Cup 2017 held in India is the most successful of its kind ever to be held in terms its overall attendance aggregating to 1,344,459 and average attendance of 25855 beating the Record of the total attendance of Columbia Under 20 World Cup 2011 which had an aggregate attendance of 12,28,027 on FIFA’s Junior Events. But the most interesting fact is that the The FIFA under 17 World Cup 2017 average attendance is higher than the Cricket World Cup 2011 India(24,098),where India emerged as the ultimate champions. This figures are massive considering the fact that India is predominantly a Cricketing Nation and the cuphold of cricket in the world. A Cricketing Nation, with much low background in Football ,breaking the records of FIFA tournament as a whole? This fact itself establishes the motto that the Tournament adopted ; “Football Takes Over”.

INDIA IN THE UNDER 17 WORLD CUP

Under 17 INDIAN Team.

India as a participant did not came out quite as successful but the one fact that remains is that No fans in India were disappointed with the Under 17 team performance. The Indian Team failing to qualify was celebrated with the quote that “This is not the end ,This is just the beginning”,and it is true . The young colts of India was placed in Group-A along with Heavyweights USA,Coloumbia and Ghana. The under 17 side displayed a powerful piece of football against USA showing some serious quality of football despite the fact that this was their very first FIFA Tournament.  India ,but lost that game against USA for 3:0 but that game marked the takeover of Football in India . India subsequently lost the game to Columbia for 2:1 where India hit the feat of their first goal in any World Cup . Jaekson Singh was the name to be registered. The bullet header came off from a corner in 81:16 to mark the first goal the in history of Indian Football in a FIFA competition. Watch Jaekson Singh’s Goal here:

Still India did not managed to win the game . Deeraj Singh, the Indian goal keeper, was noted for his key saves and eccentric performance in all of his matches. The Game against Ghana ended up in further Disappointment as India lost 4:0 to the African heavyweights .India didn’t matched the physical struength and stamina of any Ghana players. India ,therefore, did not qualify to the knockouts losing out all of the three games played. Even if India lost the three matches, the Indian team Displayed some serious skill and talent on the field which caught the eyes of many. Goal Keeper Deeraj Singh is obviously one of them .He have scouts already from all around the world. Several other players like Jaekson Singh,Komal Thattal,Rahul,Anwar Ali have showed some magnificent piece of football and is definitely the future of Indian football or maybe World Football. Komal Thattal is already called as the Indian Neymar ,something that will give the player ,some extra-ordinary Confidence and inspiration. The Indian Defense was strong and effective despite considering the fact of goals conceded which were ,to an extend ,inevitable . The midfield was lacking the quality as they failed to connect between the defence and Attack. Anikhet Jadav played as a lone Striker was also a Disappointment considering the fact that there was no linkup between Jadav and Other players. But Anikhet Jadav showed some skills which makes us believe that He is the player for future at the matured phase. Indian game were indeed a beauty to watch considering all those touches, turns, dribbles, stepovers and nutmegs defining the ultimate quality of football in India. The Indian team led by Amarjit Singh was in short a strong team individually embedded with a lot of skills but failed because of inexperience and less exposure. Does India have anything to be be sad about? The answer is a “NO” But does India have anything to boast about? Absolutely Yes. Because India might be the future .FIFA ex-president Sep Blatter called India as the “Sleeping Giants in Football” . And it is not that far as you might think. “Indian Football team might have not won the title but they have won our hearts for sure”

THE HISTORY OF INDIAN FOOTBALL

This was the maiden participation by an Indian Team in any of the FIFA tournaments. India was qualified for the FIFA world cup twice in 1950 and 1954 but was not able to participate due to inadequacy of funds which later became a much talked about controversy in India. The Indian Football team had a high run in the Olympics game of 1948,1952,1956 and 1960 even once qualifying to the Semi-Finals. India were a powerhouse in the Asian football at the 1960’s and even came as the runners up in the 1964 Asian Cup Tournament. The gaining popularity of Cricket suppressed Football to a very large extend and subsequently India went down as low as 177 in FIFA rankings.  The Indian league (I-league) clubs Mohunbagan AC and East Bengal FC kept football alive in the country for a long long time. Kolkata,th home of both these clubs,is known as the Mecca of Indian Football for all these reasons. Bengal is still the powerhouse of Indian Football with Kerala and North-eastern states supporting it evidently

The current scenario is very different and positive. Indian national Senior team under Coach Stephen Constantine have been unbeaten in 11 consecutive matches Qualifying for the Asian Cup, unbeaten in Group A, for only the 4th time. The team was ranked at a low of 175 in 2015 which subsequently rised tremendously to a massive 97 in 2017. The current Indian Rank is 105 with India qualifying to the AFC Asian Cup.Sunil Chethri,Captain of Indian National Team,is the 4th highest International active goal Scorer with 55 goals in his tally and is above Wayne Rooney and several other superstars.

The Indian Super League is marked to be a milestone because it have increased the passion for Football in the country and also exposing young Indian Players with Players who have earlier marked their names in most prestigious clubs. ISL is there by,one of the most successful football Tournament in the globe right now. It is the 4th Biggest Football tournament in the world in terms of average attendance ahead of many prestige European league’s. Kerala Blasters is 15 th in world in terms of average attendance ahead of Manchester City,Athletico Madrid,PSG etc . The club is often called as the Indian Dortmund and we know the reason for that. The KBFC fans are loud , energetic and they are yellow .Their version of Mexican wave is an absolute Beauty and a treat to watch

THE FUTURE OF INDIAN FOOTBALL

The future is positive and crystal clear. There are reports suggesting that AIFF are submitting bids for Under 20 world Cup and The Club World Cup 2020 . Imagine Clubs like Real Madrid or Barcelona playing in the Indian soil. The fans will be filling up stadium with passion and pride. It will be absolute Fire considering the fact that a major proportion of Real Madrid and Barcelona fans are here in India. India,is the next big thing in Football. If you disagree,You are going to regret in a not too distant future.

Catalan parliament declares independence from Spain

Catalan Ciudadanos leader Ines Arrimadas gestures during a plenary session at the Catalan regional Parliament in Barcelona

Barcelona – The Catalan parliament has voted to declare independence from Spain.
Seventy lawmakers voted in favour, 10 voted against, while two cast blank ballots.
The decision was made during a secret vote in Barcelona on Friday afternoon.
The names of those who voted for independence was withheld, as the Spanish attorney general promised to charge those who voted in favour of independence with “rebellion”
The declaration comes as the Spanish government is set to vote on the application of Article 155 of the Constitution, which allows Madrid to directly administer the breakaway region.
Two right-wing parties, Citizens (Cs) and People’s Party (PP), along with the centre-left Socialist Party of Catalonia (PSC), left the Catalan parliament before the vote in protest.
Alberto Rivera, president of Cs, took to Twitter to call the vote “illegal”. Miguel Iceta of the PSC said it was a “spectacular error”.
During the special plenary in the Catalan parliament on Friday, Carles Riera from the far-left Popular Unity Candidacy party, asked that the declaration be voted upon.
“We take this step on our feet, with our heads held high. Not on our knees like subjects, but as free people without fear,” he said.

The impact of this on the Laliga and the Catalonian Teams in the League is yet to be disclosed and rectified. This is reported to have a major impact on Catalonian Giants FC.Barcelona and Espanyol
